Mobile phones stolen in Winklebury
Police are appealing for witnesses after a robbery in Winklebury on Sunday, May 9. At around 9.10pm two teenagers were walking along Willoughby Way when they were approached by a group of five men. Both teenagers were threatened by the men who demanded they hand over their mobile phones. The group then punched and kicked one of the teenagers and stole both phones. A silver Samsung phone and a silver and black Sony Ericcson phone were stolen. All five of the men are described as black. The teenager suffered minor injuries following the incident. PC Kerry Hayman, of the Basingstoke Targeted Patrol Team, said: “This was an unprovoked attack that happened during the evening when other people may have been out walking in the area. “We want to hear from anybody who was in Winklebury on Sunday evening and saw anything suspicious. “Residents are reminded to contact police if they witness any suspicious activity in their neighbourhood.” Can you help?
