Warning - Secure your vehicle
Motorists are being reminded to ensure their vehicles are secure after a number of thefts from vehicles in retail car parks in Basingstoke between Friday, April 9 and Saturday, May 5. Between the two dates a number of vans have been broken into in car parks around Basingstoke and items including tools and machinery have been stolen. PC Marcus Morley, of the Basingstoke Tasking Unit, said: “We have received reports of a number of these incidents in recent weeks and want to ensure they do not continue. “We want to hear from anyone who has witnessed these kinds of thefts or anyone who knows who may be responsible for them. “We would remind people not to leave tools and machinery in vans if possible and ensure vehicles are emptied at night.” Hampshire Constabulary offers the following advice:
