Burglary in Church Square

Burglary in Church Square Police in Basingstoke are appealing for witnesses and information following a burglary in the town on Monday, April 19.

Sometime between 5pm and 8pm, an attempt was made to gain entry to an address in Church Square. The lock was forced but nothing was taken.

PC Darrin Carey, from the Basingstoke Targeted Patrol Team, said: “The address is on a through route that is used by people gaining access to one side of town from the other.

“What is intriguing is that no items were taken, despite entry being gained. This would suggest the burglar was possibly disturbed by a member of the public, so anyone who saw anything suspicious or has any information should contact us.”

Can you help?

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Carey at Basingstoke police station on 101 or call the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111. Mini-Com users can call 01962 875000. From outside Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, please call 0845 045 45 45.
