Suspicious Incident in Popley
Police are appealing for witnesses after a suspicious incident in Popley on Tuesday, April 13. Between 7pm and 8pm, a 13-year-old girl was walking along Shetland Road near to Marnel School. She was approached by a man driving a car who asked her if she wanted a lift. The girl kept walking and the car followed her for a short distance before driving off. The man was driving a modern looking dark green people carrier, possibly a Vauxhall Zafira. The man is described as:
PC Dan Carter, of the Popley Safer Neighbourhoods Team, said: “This was a concerning incident and we want to trace this man as soon as possible to establish why he offered the girl a lift.
