Aggravated burglary in Basingstoke
Detectives are appealing for information after an aggravated burglary in Basingstoke on Tuesday, December 29.

At around 5.15pm a 28-year-old man answered the front door of a house in Penham Close and was then assaulted by a group of up to four men.

Two of the men then entered his address and stole £200. The man and a 41-year-old woman who was also at the address suffered minor injuries following the incident.

All of the men were aged between 18 and 24 and were wearing dark coloured tracksuits.

Detective Constable Oliver Lage, of Basingstoke CID, said: “We believe this was a targeted incident and not a random attack. “It happened at a time of day when other people would have been around and we believe the men left the scene in a white van and drove towards the Fiveways traffic lights in Old Basing.

“We would ask any witnesses or anyone with any other information to contact us as soon as possible.”

A 23-year-old man has been arrested and bailed in connection with this incident.
