Unprovoked attack in Kempshott.
Police in Basingstoke are appealing for witnesses and information after a woman was assaulted in an unprovoked attack in Kempshott. At 6.10pm on Thursday, November 5, the victim was walking at the rear of the Kestrel pub in Buckingham Parade when she was pushed from behind. The woman fell to the floor and hit her face, causing a black eye, chipped teeth as well as cuts, grazes and bruising to her arms and legs. The attacker is described as a tall thin person wearing black jeans and a light grey fleece top. PC Susan Petts, from the Basingstoke Targeted Patrol Team, said: “This was a completely unprovoked assault and very frightening for the victim, who has been left with several injuries. “Incidents like this are unusual in the area and we would like to hear from anyone who was in Buckingham Parade on Thursday evening and saw anyone matching the description to contact us. “I would also like to remind people to think about their personal safety when walking at night. Try and stick to bright, well lit busy areas and keep valuables out of sight.” Can you help? Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Petts at Basingstoke police station on 101 or call the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111. Mini-Com users can call 01962 875000.
