Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital is a finalist in the 2009 customer care awards
Basingstoke and North Hampshire NHS Foundation Trust has been selected as a finalist for The WOW! Awards, 2009.

This prestigious award is the only national award for outstanding customer service based purely on customer nominations and is now the biggest award of its type in the world.

Judges of the WOW! Awards have been really pleased with the patient, visitor and colleague citations underlying the importance placed by staff on customer care.

Nurse director, Donna Green, said, “Since starting this staff awards scheme our Foundation Trust has been delighted with the response and has received over 160 nominations to date for staff across the whole organisation. We always aim to deliver services of the highest quality and through the WOW! Awards we have been able to recognise the hard work and contribution of all our staff.

The winners will be announced at the Gala Awards Ceremony on 4 November 2009 at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London. This is the first Awards Ceremony of its type and has already attracted the best of British businesses from both the public and private sectors.

Other finalists include Green & Black’s, Merseyside Police, First Capital Connect, Legoland, Monarch Holidays, Marriott, Ladbrokes and JJB Sports.

The WOW! Awards scheme has been running for several years but Basingstoke is the first NHS organisation to participate. Nominations can be made by members of the public either by picking up a leaflet from the hospital or online at http://www.thewowawardswebs.co.uk/nhsbasingstoke.
