Robbery in Pear Tree Way

Police are appealing for information following a robbery in Basingstoke on Saturday, July 18.

At around 10pm a 17-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man were walking along Pear Tree Way.

As they walked three men got out of a silver parked car and threatened them with a knife and a hammer.

They then stole a mobile phone, wallet and silver chain from the 19-year-old and slapped the 17-year-old on the face before getting into the car and driving off.

Both victims were uninjured following the incident.

The first man is described as: 

  • White
  • Aged between 18 and 19
  • Between 5ft 10ins and 6ft tall
  • Skinny build
  • Short, black, spiky hair
  • Spoke with a London accent
  • Wearing a white hooded top.

The second man is described as: 

  • White
  • Very short hair
  • Big forehead

The third man is described as: 

  • Black
  • Aged between 18 and 20
  • 5ft 8ins tall
  • Big build
  • Chubby face
  • Short, black hair
  • Wearing a black hooded top and dark bottoms
PC Jennifer Lovegrove, of the Basingstoke Targeted Patrol Team, said: “Incidents like this are rare in Basingstoke and we are taking the investigation seriously.

“Although the area was quiet at the time someone may have been disturbed by it and seen something.

“We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who saw three men in a silver car parked in Pear Tree Way on Saturday.”
