Ram raid in Sherrington Way
Detectives from Basingstoke CID are appealing for witnesses and information following a ram raid at a Basingstoke company on Thursday, July 9. Sometime between 10.35pm and 10.40pm, a white Luton style van was used to force open the metal shutter doors at a commercial premises in Sherrington Way. A number of central heating style boilers in packaging worth more than £10,000 were stolen. Detective Constable Paul Smith, from Basingstoke CID, said: “There is every possibility this vehicle has driven away from the scene at speed, probably along many of the main roads through Basingstoke and possibly towards the motorway. “This van is likely to have attracted the attention of other motorists due to the speed it was travelling at and because the rear tail lift may have been lowered to cover the vehicle’s registration number.” Can you help?
