CREW to visit Brighton Hill

CREW to visit Brighton Hill Crime Reduction Environment Work (CREW) returns on 8 and 9 July to Brighton Hill to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour issues as well as cleaning up any environmental problems and working with residents to improve the area.

A team of officers from Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, Hampshire County Council, Hampshire Constabulary, Hampshire Fire and Rescue and the community will be hitting the streets on Wednesday 8 and Thursday 9 July in a bid to tackle and problems.

An information and enquiry desk will be situated at The Dome, in Brighton Hill Parade, for those wanting to talk to someone about their concerns.

A public meeting will also be held at The Dome between 7 and 8pm on the Wednesday night to give residents and people working in Brighton Hill the opportunity to ask questions of a panel of experts and hear about any initiatives taking place in their area.

Cabinet Member for Community Safety and Development Cllr Clive Sanders said: “This is a great opportunity for all the agencies to hear directly from local residents exactly what the issues are in an area. It also gives the community a chance to work with the council and its partners directly to improve the area.

“We need to understand what the issues are and how we may be able to address them. I urge residents and people working in Brighton Hill to attend the public meeting, or drop into The Dome during Wednesday and Thursday to let us know their thoughts and concerns.”
