11-year-old boys assaulted in Brighton Hill

Police are appealing for witnesses and information after an incident in Brighton Hill on Thursday, June 25.

Sometime between 5.30pm and 7pm, three 11-year-old boys were playing with their go karts in the underpass in Gershwin Road when they were approached by three older boys.

The teenagers asked the younger boys if they could play with their go karts which they let them do.  When they asked for them back, the older boys initially refused and began taunting them.

One of the older boys then rubbed his crotch against the head of two of the younger boys and in the face of the third.

The boy is described as:

  • White
  • Around 5ft 10ins
  • Average build
  • About 16-17 years old
  • With short blond hair and blue eyes
  • Wearing a blue t-shirt and brown three quarter length trousers

PC Tracy West, from Basingstoke’s Targeted Patrol Team, said: “This was a completely unprovoked and uncalled for incident with three young boys who were innocently playing with their go-karts.

“This potentially could have been a lot more serious and is classed as a sexual assault.

“Do you know the identity of this boy? The same three boys were seen throwing stones at a bus on Gershwin Road around the same time and I would ask anyone with any information to contact us.”

Can you help?

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC West at Basingstoke Police Station on 0845 045 45 45 or call the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111. Mini-Com users can call 01962 875000.
