Appeal to trace woman

Appeal to trace woman Police in Basingstoke are trying to trace a woman who reported an indecent act on Tuesday, June 23.

Officers were contacted by Festival Place security staff after a woman told them she had seen a man committing an indecent act as she walked through Glebe Gardens around 7pm.

The woman also said the man had then touched her. Unfortunately, she did not leave her details so officers are unable to follow up her report.

PC Matt Sard, from the Basingstoke Town Centre, said: “At the time of the incident, the woman did not leave her details or provide a full account of what happened, perhaps due to the shock of what had just occurred.

“I would appeal to this woman to contact the police so that we can fully investigate the incident and provide her with any support that she may need.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who was in Glebe Gardens just before 7pm on Tuesday who may have seen this man or witnessed this incident. It was a warm and sunny day and the area was busy with people enjoying the weather.

“Please be reassured that this appears to have been an isolated incident and members of the public should continue to enjoy the gardens, but please report any suspicious activity to the police immediately.”

Can you help?
