Detectives in Basingstoke are appealing for a woman to contact them after a concerned report from a member of the public.

Just before midnight on Saturday, June 13 a woman was seen walking along Beggarwood Lane towards the Co-Op.

Two men were also seen walking just behind her. A vehicle was parked in Shortwood Copse Lane with the lights on and the doors open.

A passer by has told police she saw two men pushing whom she believed to be a woman into the rear of the car.

The vehicle, described as a white, old style Mercedes with a partial registration number of S169, then drove off onto the A30 towards the M3.

The woman is described as:

  • White
  • Blonde hair
  • Aged in her early 20s
  • Around 5ft tall
  • Slim build
  • Wearing a leopard print coat

Both men are described as white, aged in their 20s or 30s and wearing dark clothing.

Detective Constable Andrew Walker, of Basingstoke CID, said: “This has been reported to us by someone who was driving by and was concerned.

“We have had no reports of anyone missing that matches this description and the woman did not call out or scream.

“It is quite possible that this was friends playing around or someone collecting this woman and nobody was in any danger. However we would appeal for this woman to contact us to let us know she is okay.

“If you were involved and this was an innocent prank then please contact us so we can complete our investigation.”

Can you help?
