Man assaulted in Glebe Gardens

Police in Basingstoke are appealing for witnesses after an assault in the town on Wednesday, May 27.

At around 3pm a 21-year-old man was walking along Glebe Gardens when he was approached by two men.

The men assaulted him causing minor cuts to his face which required treatment at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital.

The first man is described as: 

  • White
  • Aged between 25 and 26 years old
  • 6ft 2ins tall
  • Average build
  • Shaven head
  • Round face
  • Spoke with a London accent
  • Wearing a hooded top and dark blue tracksuit bottoms

The second man is described as: 

  • Black
  • Around 30 years old
  • 5ft 11ins tall
  • Muscular build
  • Black hair in corn-rows
  • Tattoo on his cheek of a swallow carrying two cherries
  • Spoke with a London accent
  • Wearing baggy jeans

PC Adam Leech, of the Basingstoke Targeted Patrol Team, said: “This assault happened in the middle of the afternoon at a time when other people may have been around.

“The victim suffered minor injuries and we would ask any witnesses to contact police as soon as possible.”
