Incident at Basingstoke supermarket car park
Police in Basingstoke are appealing for witnesses to after an incident at a supermarket car park in the town on Tuesday, May 5. At around 6.15pm a 30-year-old man returned to his Mitsubishi car which was parked in Morrison’s car park and found that it had been in a collision with a silver Mercedes. The driver of the Mercedes did not exchange his details and got back into his vehicle. He then drove towards the man, forcing him to jump onto the front of the Mercedes. The man was then thrown from the vehicle as it drove off and suffered injuries to his back, left arm and wrist. A 71-year-old man from Basingstoke has been arrested and bailed in connection with this incident. PC Natalie Stallworthy, of the Basingstoke Targeted Patrol Team, said: “This incident happened at a supermarket during the early evening so a number of people would have witnessed it. “We would ask any witnesses or anyone with information to contact police as soon as possible.” Can you help?
