Bus shelter is set alight in Chineham Police in Basingstoke are appealing for information after a fire at a bus shelter in Chineham on Sunday, April 26.

At around 7.55pm Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to the shelter in the long stay car park of Chineham shopping centre.

The wooden bus shelter was damaged following the incident which officers believe was arson.

PC Christopher Pike, of Basingstoke police station, said: “Although nobody was hurt during this fire it was a dangerous incident that could have been worse.

“We would ask anyone who has any information about how the fire started to contact police as soon as possible.”
