More faces needed to show off borough To encourage more people to get involved with showcasing the borough, the deadline for the Faces of Basingstoke competition has been extended to Friday 22 August. Launched on Thursday 17 July, the competition, being run by Destination Basingstoke, aims to find people who live and work in the area as models for photography used in publications, websites and adverts to promote the area as alive, thriving and vibrant. Entries are needed from men, women and families whose faces could be used to help encourage people to live in, work and visit the borough. Photographs will be taken in September. Managing Director of Destination Basingstoke Felicity Edwards said: “This is a great way for people to really get involved with showcasing how brilliant the area really is. We’re looking for people of all ages as we want to use ‘real’ people in photographs that promote the area. “We’re extending the deadline as we want as many people as possible to have the opportunity to enter.” Anyone wanting to enter the competition should visit Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council's website at www.basingstoke.gov.uk where there is an application form and attach two photographs and email to faces@destinationbasingstoke.co.uk. Alternatively pick up an application form from Festival Place’s information desk. Those who are selected as winners of the competition will receive £100 worth of vouchers to spend in Festival Place and be entered into a prize draw with the chance to win an hour’s free professional photography shoot.
