Detectives appeal for witnesses after assault in Buckskin Detectives appeal for witnesses after assault in Buckskin Detectives in Basingstoke are trying to trace witnesses who may have information about an assault in Buckskin on Sunday, July 6. Sometime between 1.30am and 2am a 44-year-old man was walking home from the Royal Oak pub along Tweedsmuir Close. He saw two youths damaging a fence in Cairngorm Close and called over to them to stop. The youths then turned on the man hitting him several times in the face and stamping on him while he was on the ground. The man sustained a dislocated shoulder and facial injuries and he was taken to Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital. The two youths then took a mobile phone and £175 in cash from the victim.
